I put together the Menu that the game starts on and created the coding for the Menu as well. I also put the Level together meaning adjusting the background size, putting in the trees and ground (THE GROUND IS ALL THERE BUT THE STUPID GLITCH IS MAKING IT NOT SEEM TO BE THERE(which is evidently very annoying)) and placing the enemies (well the chompys and the skulls and boss) also chests and such. I also put together the UI elements like the health bar, the pause menu (that i forgot to show), and the game over menu. (also a debug thingy was used so that i could show the whole map).

Today I worked on getting everything in the level and making sure it all looks somewhat okay, we have a few glitches with the ground that doesn't seem to want to go away, but the level seems to be fully put together

I have started to get the level design done in terms of the terrain. There is a slight problem where i am unable to really add more tiles because (well my hope is that) the computer is too slow to keep all the tiles in check so i am going to try to work on it at home and see if it is better there.

I have worked on setting up a new scene that will be our actual finalized level for the demo thing we are doing because our test scene is an absolute mess.

I have worked on getting the health bar art all imported and working so that it looks more natural, I also solved some problems we had with screen sizing. Also I worked on our little chompy guy so that his animation of chomping down on the player is a little smoother. The player is also in the middle of being animated.

Matt has done some updating of the textures used in the testing scene so we can see a little of what the game will look like in the near future. I also learned what the heck Tile Pallet is from him. Anyway we also worked on making a Game Over screen that plays when the play dies (and only when the player dies unlike yesterday but that was its own thing).

More or less finished the Menu (the art isn't completely done and Difficulty setting doesn't actually do anything , but the Difficulty will likely never do anything in our demo). I have created a Pause Menu in the game. I am about to start working on creating an actual Death Code that kills things at 0 or less health.

I have been working with Matt on some of the programming and have made sure that everyone knows what they are doing and how we are going to do things such as what kind of style the map is gonna be what the boss is and how pixelated all of the creatures should be.

I have been making sure that everyone knows what the game is what everyone is comfortable with doing, creating s survey so we could finalize all of the design choices we were undecided on. Going through user stories to make the survey and make sure all of the suggestions were to the agreement of the team for the final decision like about what weapons our player is going to be wielding.

What I Like
- I like the amazing graphics that were used for a mobile game
- I enjoyed the directional based combat that was fast paced
- I enjoyed the customization of the character
- The story isn’t something you really come to know (I had to find it on the website)
- It isn't very clear often times where you need to go to reach the next boss and sometimes get lost (but this is also a part of the upside that the player gets to decide how he goes about the world)
- There are some micro transactions for stuff that kinda makes some things annoying
- The amazing graphics
- Lots of things to do meaning lots of playtime
- Good combat
- To defeat the king of the castle
- Make the path far more linear so the players don’t get lost
- Remove micro transactions
- Because they wanted some more money
- They wanted a kind of open world that allows for the player to choose his path

- Because it wouldn't involve additional costs
- The players won’t get lost and become confused/frustrated

Game Ideas
Knight's Rampage (Placeholder) - main concept
A knight travels through the corrupt kingdom to slay the king in a 2D platformer full of intense directional combat and Upgrade your weapons to slay the stronger enemies.
Unique Selling Point - 2D directional combat with different weapons for different styles
2D side scroller. You play as a knight and have to fight a lot of enemies to reach the castle to kill the king. How the game works is that you have left and right movement, a jump, directional attacks, directional blocks, and directional parries. The enemies will be moving around and attacking you so you must dodge, block, or parry their attack by using the right direction in response to the attack. The enemies will have armour that prevents damage in most directions so you need to hit it in the right direction. There are many different weapons that each give different attack ranges, attack paths, and attack speed. The different weapons also determine whether or not you have block, parry, both, or even neither.
Game 2 - The Forest Fire
2D idle game where your objective is to put out the fire that keeps growing in the forest.
PSA - ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES
Game 3 - Tetris Slash
2D platformer tetris where you are a minion hitting the pieces to move them left and right or rotate them within the tetris area (it wont be easy to get them to move as you want)

Game 4 - Cultivation
Game about Chinese cultivation in which you must train till you become strong enough to join a sect. Then you must train and manage your public image until the martial competition where you must make it being a main disciple. then spend your years training till you become sect head all while boosting your popularity before the previous sect head dies. Then you train while you manage your sect to protect it against the other ones.
Unique- about cultivation and has many different kinds of games in it.
Game 5 - This is my swamp!
You must defend your swamp against the kingdom that believes they own the land and has sold it to others. Build your towers and defend against the waves of invaders. Fight enemies like talking pigs and blind mice.
Very unique situation for the tower defence.

A) Strategy with a sub genre of MOBA, and it could be considered a Action and RPG because it has a lot of fighting and involves leveling up to become stronger and collecting gold to buy items to improve your character
B) The Audience is literally everyone but mainly focusing on young adults to middle aged C) The goal is to destroy your enemy's nexus and the objectives are to get kills to get stronger and take towers so you can reach the nexus D) The characters are all people from different words that were pulled into a main world. In this main world they are forced to fight each other by the summoners. E) I would rate the game as a 8/10 in a general idea because it has great game play, great look, and is really fun it also has the flaw of a horrible community of players ruining a lot of the fun of the game |
A) Action-Adventure with sub genres of Rouge like, shooter,Horror, and dungeon crawl. The game could also be considered a strategy game because there are many choices you have to make in the game which greatly effect if you can succeed.
B) The audience is likely young and middle aged adults who like a hard game C) The goal is to go through the rooms and find the boss floor of each level beat the boss and go down a level and then beat the final boss (Which is different the more you play) D)The overall narrative is that you are a small child. Your mother became obsessed with religion and received a "message from god" to kill her child, you Isaac, run and hides in the monster filled basement of the home (note to reader the story gets a lot more..... interesting as you beat more bosses or play the later games) E) I would rate the game with a nice 8/10 because it has an cool style to it and the game is more or less balanced (you just need some luck) its just that it becomes little tedious after a while if you keep messing up and make so progress. |

B) The Audience is just like the others and is young to middle aged adults C) The goal is to get back the light that was taken from you and to achieve this you have to shoot kill stuff to get strong and complete story missions to get farther to that last story mission so you can just move on and keep shooting and killing stuff D) The overall narritive is that you are part of the last traces of humanity and we have the light to make us op and we cant stay dead but in this game the light is taken and that my good sir is a problem but dont worry the main character gets is back solo and then has to save everyone else by getting the light back E) I would rate the game 6/10 because while I love the graphics and the story is actually pretty good the problem is I just don't find constantly shooting and killing things for hours all that entertaining for long. |
January 25 2018 Update
Have finished the Match 3 game and improved on the original intention of the tutorial by making it so that the boxes become X's and O's and are also colored X and O. The game can also now register a win of each player.
January 22 2018 Update
Currently am working on a match 3 project by following the tutorial. I have finished watching the other videos about the coding and the basics of unity. Can get the cubes to change to different colors when i click on them and already have a system in my head on how to make that work for a two player game but am going to see if the tutorial does it a more efficient way compared to my thinking. I also now have it make X and O when clicked on.

How to improve the game :
- Have all Freelancers already unlocked for players because it's a huge pain to just do that 10 game grind to just own your first freelancer and you have to do a normal grind after that or spend $30 on a free game.
- Make a more definite system to unlock loot boxes EX: a level up system that makes it so that every time you level up you get a loot box that contains stuff like skins or banners for your character and name respectively
- Make more skins for the characters so that they look alot better and so that people will spend a stupid amount of money on buying said skins because you keep releasing really cool skins (rather than a lot of re colors)
- Give the actions of your teammates a little icon by their action that you can hover over to see what exactly it does. This will make it a lot easier for new players to work with the abilities of your teammates.
- Fix the animations so that there isn't that overly stupid large jaw movement because it doesn't look funny just weird and also make sure there are no clipping things during said taunts
Why they didn’t do these improvements
- They prefer not to make no money on a game so they have to get money somehow (not free freelancers reason and why it's harder to get the free loot boxes)
- It would be a long and slow process to make a lot more skins because each model is different and there are always bugs when it comes to the new models so in other words they just haven’t had enough time yet to make all skins they should have this also applies to why they don't have icons on allies abilities
- The animations are just a stylistic choice of the game which is why it is doing the weird mouth movement and the like.
Why players would like these changes
- Firstly having free freelancers would allow the newer players a chance to play all the characters leading to better enjoyment during the game so that they don't just have to play one of the free week people and learn their styles
- Secondly having a lot of new skins for players would make the game more vibrant and also players just love skins so that they can make the character look like what they want and can show off how they spend money into a free to play game
- Lastly the action icons would make the game a much easier process for the newer players because in the game people set up skills and the newer players don't know what the skill does so they can't play around the other player using the skill.\
Why these would be difficult to implement
- Lots of time would be needed to do the skins and the animations which would delay other updates to the gameplay itself
- Having the characters set as free means that the company running the game will get less money because more people would just play it as free to play instead of just doing the $30 initial purchase for all the characters.
- The action icons would be very hard to implement because you have to give the player a way to get to those action icon and read them in the time they have. Another thing is that each icon would need to be programed and designed and that would come with a multitude of bugs that would be created by adding the icon.
